Fields Farm

A Cohousing Community

Welcome to the site design we have loving labled Doscasas, after our idea of including both a public common house and a private one.  Our intention was to create a cohousing community that is both sustainable in design and sustainable economically.  To achieve this, we included several comercial retail spaces to the "front" of the site to allow both the farm and the community residents the opportunity to sell any goods they might produce.  The second common house acts as a gathering spot for the community, where they can come together in a more quiet, serene environment.  We included three main types of housing in our project.  The condo  that integrate the retail spaces are our most dense type of housing. These have a truly urban feel.  We also have lofted homes that are essentially a one story home with a lofted bedroom.  All of these include a great double heighted living room space.  The largest homes are essentially duplexs.  There are models nearer to the "rear" of the site that include a one care garage that can also be converted into a fourth bedroom.  We hope you enjoy Doscasas and have a worderful day.

Team Dell, I'm really glad that you created the video. It gives a good overview of the landscape ideas that you incorporated into your 3D model. Considering how much data you are working with, it's great to see that you were able to get some topography into your model. For the final, I can imagine a tightly edited version that features blends into luxuriantly Photoshopped stills in place of so much camera motion. * * * Consider the audience for your web presentation - one great image, a name & logo and some enticing text description would go a long way to lure people to your site.

I really like how you were able to use a wide variety of differing design elements in each cluster of buildings. This successfully gives the appearance of an organic growth because each building is so individualistic yet as a whole they relate well to each other. Is it necessary to have such a large orchard in the center of the complex? Perhaps the trees could be spread around the property and this space could be used for other purposes or perhaps the footprint of the complex could be reduced.
